Product Description
For today’s photographer, a clean, professional-looking website is a must. But for most, the thought of having a site that displays your work like a pro seems either too expensive or too hard to create. How can you develop an eye-catching website that looks professional, updates quickly, and even helps you make some money in the process when your passion is photography and not coding? It’s easier than you think.

In Get Your Photography on the Web, RC Concepcion, curriculum developer for Kelby Media Group and one of the Photoshop Guys, takes you through an easy step-by-step process so you can build your own site from the ground up and have it look like you paid someone a lot of money to do it for you. Even if you know nothing about Web programming, this book will have you building a website in hours, not weeks.

Very helpful recipe book for a WordPress photo site
I've been working at getting a class together on just the subject of putting a photo website up with WordPress for a couple of months. About the time I finished, I came across this book that had pretty much what I'd been working through. Isn't that the way it goes. Rafael Concepcion pointed out a couple of things I missed, so I am very happy to have gotten this. I think that he has done a good job of putting together a solid cookbook of steps that should get most people up and running in a reasonable amount of time.

Beyond the details of setting up the site itself, the book covers getting photos ready for web display. It's not difficult but paying attention to the instructions will give you the best quality/loading speed compromise.

Dipping a Toe into the Web

Every serious photographer wants a web site and with some of the easy to use on-line tools available it's easy to create such a presence. "Get Your Photography on the Web" handholds you through this process.

In the first few chapters, "RC" Concepcion shows you how to set up an account on GoDaddy, to construct a basic photo blog and gallery using WordPress software, and to customize it, including adding plug-ins and themes. In subsequent chapters, he discusses printing images on line, creating a flash-based portfolio, social media, and creating web galleries and uploading them to a hosting site. Between chapters he introduces you to various designers and bloggers.

Great tutorial, written well
I bought the Kindle version and this book rocks! I have to admit I haven't read the whole book yet but what I have read is very impressive. The completeness of tutorials with screen shots is so much better than other technical books I have come across. Other books tend to leave out a step or two along the way and you have to go searching for errata at a later time. I haven't found any problems, yet. BTW, the Kindle version is about $14.00 less than the iBooks version.
